Who are you, and what can I find around here?

I'm a young computer scientist living at the north of Spain. You should find here random thoughts about my life and my future plans. My website is cool, it does not ship useless noise and can be read in less than five minutes, try out!

Doh! did you say computer scientist?

Well, not yet. I'm currently studying Computer Engineering at University of Oviedo. Even though it is not possible to establish a parallelism between foreign and local degrees, I've got something like a BSc in Computer Science and I'm currently doing the MSc.

But, being a Spanish guy, why is this site written in English?

Classic. I'm involved in some non-Spanish projects and, flamely, English is the universal language along the Internet.

Is there a photo album somewhere?

I'm afraid not. Google images is the most similar thing to a personal photo album. Maybe someday I will open an account at Flickr.

What projects are you involved in?

I'm doing humble contributions to the Debian project. Besides that, I'm doing stuff for the following projects.

From a not-so-technical side, I'm a member of AsturLinux, a local Linux user group which goal is to introduce free software to the asturian people through talks, working sessions and so on.

Are you employed?

No, I'm unemployed at the moment. I slightly prefer to keep going with my studies, but, who knows, perhaps a cool job offer could change my mind ;)

What's your ideal job?

I'd really like work developing free software. If it's not possible, I'd like working with free software tools, at least. About my colleagues, an active and dynamic group should be enough to get a comfortable work environment.

Would you mind moving out from Spain to get an interesting job?

Since the air bridges are wide enough to come back from time to time to visit my friends and family, I wouldn't mind moving to another country at all.

I'm unable to grab your résumé (CV) around here, is it online?

Unfortunately, it isn't. CVs (as we know them) are pretty outdated, so why don't you try Linkedin?. If you're still interested in my CV ask for it but, please, respect my privacy and only ask if you are really interested in its content.

Well, you are geek, what else?

Besides hack around my computers, I like mathematics, tea (Pu-erh turns me happy), and stout beer such as Guinness or Murphy's.

Ok, do you know what does the word 'sport' mean?

Sure. I like play tennis, squash and go hiking. I also watch Formula One races.

Is the silence your main inspiration source?

No way! Actually, my inspiration comes from bands such as Dire Straits, Royal Crown Revue and artists like Joshua Redman or Joaquín Sabina.

I'm a geek too, are you a blogger?

Hehe, I've to confess that I'm a lazy blogger. I usually throw random thoughts about technology and my life here.

What language do you prefer to speak with me?

Either English or Spanish. Although I haven't had a lot of opportunities to practise spoken English, I'm feeling like I'm able to hold a conversation with you. On the other hand, I fluently speak Spanish.

Do you use any sort of privacy guard mechanism? GnuPG maybe?

Yes. I'm a happy user of GnuPG and my public key is available here.

What about real-time chat such as IRC?

I usually drop some bits around Freenode or OFTC, nicknamed as chipi.

I really hate IRC and my email client is broken, what can I do?

Either fix your email client (recommended option) or try yelling at chipi@jabber.org

What can you say me with regard to your website?

For example, that it's simpler and loads quite faster than yours. Now seriously, the original design (named as "plain and simple") was taken from OSWD.
