First at all, lot of people ask me why I write my blog in English. There are two heavy reasons:

• My English is not perfect and I want to improve my writting skills (foreing language shouldn’t be a one-way function)
• I’m thinking to port my blog’s feed to only English speaking planets

Continuing with this post, this is my second day in this new year at university. The return to first year classroom was hard and boring but there are interesting things to view in this place (everybody knows what I am speaking about…)

This weekend I was proclaimed Secretary of AsturLiNUX. My friends, I promise you that I’m going to do the work as better as I can. Last Secretary is explaining me all the things I should know to be an excellent Secretary, like him.

Yesterday, I was in a Web Accessibility speak at EUITIO, done by Jesús García from Fundación CTIC, it was good, I leave here an interesting URL to an animated GIF that explains how to build a website correctly.

Last days I was updating my Debian packages too, fixing some bugs. Last night, I started the NM process (thanks Ricardo).

No more interesting things to tell you. Regards to all my blog fans (if they exist).

The end of the third quarter of this year is really near. Exactly 16 days distance us from Nokia 770 launch deadline, the internet tablet that runs Linux and Maemo. Go, go, go!

Despues de ya varios días sin poner ninguna entrada nueva en mi diario me animo a escribir.

Actualmente me encuentro trabajando en el Dpto. de Informática de EBHI en el Puerto de Gijón, aprovechando que no tengo que examinarme de nada en septiembre. Por allí todo bien, muy buenos compañeros, muy buen trato y muchos e interesantes proyectos.

Por otro lado, quería comentar mi adiós a Evolution y mi hola a Sylpheed. Después ya de algo más de un año con Evo, y de estar cansado de lo lento que se había hecho en sus últimas versiones me he decido a probar otro cliente. Al principio un poco reacio al cambio, pero me animé a instalar este software y a mirar todas sus opciones, y me quedé impresionado, todo lo que pretendía personalizar encontré opción para hacerlo, por lo que migré todas mis cuentas, mis mailboxes y mis filtros a Sylpheed, todo a la perfección. Ahora cuento con un cliente de correo electrónico rápido, óptimo y ligero, que es capaz de realizar el 100% de las tareas que le encomiendo por lo que estoy realmente contento con Sylpheed. Por fin me ha deshecho al completo de Gnome, y sus librerías en mi workstation de casa, así como del misterioso “evolution-data-server” que se había hecho íntimo de mi CPU.

Desde aquí agradecer el trabajo de nuestro compañero Ricardo Mones, por mantener el paquete de Sylpheed en Debian.

Después de el periodo de exámenes me pongo de nuevo a poner al día todo lo que tenía pendiente, este no es más que un post para inaugurar este weblog, que sustituye al anterior :)
